Our Commitment to Health & Safety

Safety is our number one priority at QED Construction – it’s at the forefront of everything we do. We continually improve our systems and have created a working culture that helps ensure no harm comes to our employees, fellow contractors, or the public.

Training & Development

We provide both in-house and external training for our employees, in line with their roles and responsibilities within the company.

NVQ, City & Guilds, confined space training and CPCS blue card training is provided as standard for all our plant operatives. In addition, we provide Pro Qual Utility Location & Avoidance in Construction training. All our site managers are SMSTS qualified. We also have qualified slinger/signallers and street work qualified staff.

We have achieved 100% qualification in CSCS and CPCS qualifications for all our employees.

QED Construction holds CHAS Accreditation, so you can be confident that we are working to the highest Health & Safety standards.

To ensure our procedures are up to date, and that our standards are maintained, we employ Napthens H&S as our Competent Persons, under the Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999).

Our Health & Safety Policy & System

We conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure standards are being maintained on site. We proactively take steps to identify best practice and to reduce any potential risks. We also use innovative techniques and the latest technology to maintain and improve our already exemplary safety record.

We invest heavily in quality PPE for our employees as per our risk assessments.

The QED Health & Safety Policy sets out how we manage health and safety on site, including the systems we have in place to ensure we comply with all relevant legislation. A copy is available on request. This is reviewed every twelve months
